The Starboard Grill

After thirteen years running a full-service restaurant at Port Alberni's Harbour Quay, chef Brad DeClercq and co-owner Kelly DeClercq reshaped The Starboard Grill in late 2025 into a smaller heat-and-serve operation on Gertrude Street. There is no table service now; instead the shop stocks fresh and frozen house-made meals you finish at home, including the Candied Salmon Chowder the kitchen became known for. The retail counter is open Tuesday through Friday from late morning into the early evening, while catering continues seven days a week for gatherings of every size. Brad brings more than twenty-five years of cooking experience gained in resorts and restaurants across British Columbia and Alberta, and the team can accommodate most dietary needs when asked ahead. Weekly menus rotate with seasonal additions, and plenty of parking sits behind the building. It is a relaxed, chef-driven way to bring restaurant-quality comfort food to an Alberni Valley dinner table on your own schedule.
