Terms of Service
The plain-language rules for using VanIsleNet.
What VanIsleNet is
VanIsleNet is a directory of Vancouver Island businesses and events, operated by Design Menu. Listing information comes from businesses themselves and from publicly available sources. We work to keep it accurate, but we can't guarantee it — always confirm details like hours and prices with the business directly.
Listings and claims
Free listings are published at our discretion, and we may edit or remove any listing to keep the directory accurate and useful. Claiming a listing requires that you're an authorized representative of that business — we verify every claim before approving it.
Paid upgrades
Standard and Featured listing upgrades are monthly subscriptions billed through PayPal by Design Menu, VanIsleNet's parent company — that's the name that appears on your statement. You can cancel anytime from your PayPal account; cancellation stops future billing and your upgrade stays active until the end of the paid period. Billing questions or refund requests: contact us — we're reasonable people.
Event submissions
Anyone may submit an Island event for free. Submissions are reviewed before publishing, and we may decline or remove any event, particularly anything inaccurate, misleading, or unlawful.
Acceptable use
Don't submit false information, impersonate a business, scrape the directory wholesale, or use the site for anything unlawful. We may refuse service or remove content that breaks these rules.
Liability
The directory is provided "as is." VanIsleNet and Design Menu aren't responsible for the products, services, or conduct of businesses listed here — your dealings with a listed business are between you and them.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the site evolves; the date below reflects the latest revision. Questions: contact us.
