VanIsleNet is built to be usable by every Islander.
Accessibility isn't an add-on here — it's how this site was built from the first line of code. VanIsleNet aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the widely recognized standard for web accessibility.
What we do
Every page uses semantic structure that screen readers can navigate, all functionality works with a keyboard alone, text contrast meets or exceeds AA ratios on every background, forms have visible labels with clear error messages, and animation respects your system's reduced-motion setting. Body text is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute for maximum legibility.
Display preferences
The accessibility button in the site header (the person icon) lets you increase text size, switch to a high-contrast theme, or turn off motion. Your choices are remembered on this device between visits, and nothing about them is sent to us.
