Riva Sidney

Riva is a casual waterfront restaurant on Beacon Avenue in Sidney, pairing relaxed dining with views over the water and a menu built around fresh, locally sourced ingredients. A weekly fresh sheet supplements a wide-ranging carte that includes New England clam chowder, arancini, crispy calamari, baked crab and spinach dip, limoncello prawns and baked Little Qualicum brie to start. Mains span caesar and cobb salads, chicken, veggie and sockeye salmon burgers, Salt Spring Island mussels, hibachi shrimp and fish and chips, plus house pastas such as seafood tagliatelle, linguine vongole and bolognese, and grill plates like steak frites, lamb sirloin and chicken marsala. Most of the menu can be prepared gluten-free. A brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays from late morning, and on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings the room hosts live jazz featuring some of the region's finest musicians. Riva is open daily from late morning, and reservations are recommended for jazz nights.
