About
Subtidal Adventures has been showing visitors the wildlife of Barkley Sound for 35 years, making it Ucluelet's original wildlife tour company. Its guides live on the coast and know the local waters, leading trips to see humpback and grey whales, orcas, seals and sea lions, eagles, sea otters, black bears and the occasional wolf among the Broken Group Islands of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.
Tours run in every season. Spring brings the Gray Whale Adventure during the northern migration from Mexico to Alaska, summer and fall feature the see-it-all Islands, Whales and Bears trip, and winter offers sunset cruises through the Broken Group along with storm and harbour tours where eagles, sea birds and sea lions take centre stage.
Guests choose between two boats to suit their style: a fast, adventurous Zodiac or a cosy enclosed cruiser that once served as a coast guard rescue boat. Wedding and private group tours are also available.
