Kathryn Dykstra is a visual artist in North Saanich creating bold, large-format abstract acrylic paintings on canvas. Her layered compositions use acrylics, gels and textural elements such as plaster, applied with palette-knife and silk-screening techniques. Before painting she practised law for 25 years in Edmonton and chaired the board of NAIT, and she trained at the Vancouver Island School of Art. She sells original works and takes commissions, with studio viewings available by arrangement.
