Codfather Charters

Guided salmon and halibut fishing charters with lodging out of Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island.

About

Codfather Charters has been guiding anglers out of Port Hardy since 1986, giving it one of the longest track records of any charter operation on northern Vancouver Island. The company runs a fleet of clean, comfortable boats in the 24-to-31-foot range, each equipped with radar, GPS, VHF radio, fish finders, downriggers and marine heads for safe, comfortable days on the water, cruising at around thirty knots to reach the fishing quickly. Salmon fishing for Chinook, coho and pink runs from mid-May through the end of September, while summer brings strong bottom fishing for halibut, lingcod, red snapper and rockfish. Guests can round out their trip with on-site lodging in dockside condos featuring up to three bedrooms, full kitchens, satellite TV and barbecues. Experienced local guides, quality gear and refreshments on board suit both first-timers and seasoned fishers, and the friendly Port Hardy community offers plenty to do in the afternoons and evenings.
