Cedar + Salt

Cedar + Salt is a laid-back Ucluelet restaurant and premier catering company where nothing takes a shortcut. Led by executive chef Brandon Thompson, the kitchen turns out slow-cooked pit barbecue and bread baked fresh in-house, with a focus on quality and locally sourced ingredients. Raised partly on his grandparents' farm in Cedar, BC, Brandon completed his chef apprenticeship at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and spent nearly two decades cooking in Alberta and BC, including a turn on the Food Network series Firemasters in 2019, before settling on the coast. His cooking leans into a sea-to-plate and Rocky Mountain style that celebrates the bounty of British Columbia. The restaurant on Forbes Road serves brunch and a regular menu Tuesday through Sunday, with online ordering available and Mondays closed. Beyond the dining room, the Cedar + Salt team caters weddings, corporate events, elopements, private parties and beachfront gatherings throughout Ucluelet and Tofino.
