Artzi Stuff is part gift store and part art gallery, occupying a heritage building at 2 Church Street in the heart of downtown Nanaimo. Open since 2008, the shop carries the work of more than 65 artists, every one of whom lives and works in British Columbia — and most call Vancouver Island home.
The collection runs from jewellery and original art to clothing, ceramics, and playful giftware, with an emphasis on colourful, witty, and sustainably made pieces. The owners are deliberately choosy about what earns shelf space, so many items are one-of-a-kind originals, and the stock turns over constantly.
Shoppers who can't make it downtown can browse a smaller selection through the store's online shop, and staff are happy to help track down a specific piece by email. For everyone else, the shop encourages casual browsing — visitors are welcome to drop in just to look around and chat.
