Sooke Fall Fair

The Sooke Fall Fair is a classic country agricultural fair held each August at Fred Milne Park in Sooke, on the western edge of Greater Victoria. Running for well over a century, it celebrates the rural roots of the Sooke region with a weekend of exhibits, competitions and family entertainment. Visitors can browse displays of prize vegetables, flowers, preserves, baking, photography, quilts, woodworking and other home-craft and hobby entries submitted by local residents, and watch livestock and small-animal showings. Alongside the exhibition hall there are typically food vendors, artisan and community booths, live music, children's activities and demonstrations that reflect the area's farming and homesteading heritage. The fair is organized by local volunteers and remains a genuine community gathering rather than a commercial event, drawing families, gardeners, 4-H members and newcomers alike. The 2026 fair takes place August 22 to 23, 2026 at Fred Milne Park. It is an easygoing, affordable outing that captures small-town Vancouver Island at its most charming, and a good chance to meet growers and makers from the Sooke area.
