DESCRIPTION:The Comox Valley Exhibition\, known locally as CVEX\, is one 
 of Vancouver Island's longest-running agricultural fairs\, carrying on a 
 tradition of celebrating rural life and community that stretches back mor
 e than 150 years. Held over three days at the Comox Valley Exhibition Gro
 unds in Courtenay\, the fair brings together farmers\, growers\, crafters
  and families from across the region. Visitors can expect livestock displ
 ays and competitions\, prize-winning produce and baking\, homecraft and h
 orticulture exhibits\, midway rides and games\, live entertainment\, food
  vendors and plenty of hands-on activities for children. It is a chance t
 o see 4-H members show their animals\, watch demonstrations\, and take in
  the agricultural heritage that shaped the valley. Organized by the volun
 teer-run Comox Valley Exhibition\, the event draws locals and visitors al
 ike each late August as summer winds down. The relaxed\, family-friendly 
 atmosphere makes it easy to spend an afternoon or a full day wandering th
 e barns\, exhibit halls and vendor stalls. Whether you come for the anima
